Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 June 2026
CompareQuik (“we”, “us”, “our”) values your privacy. This notice explains what data we collect when you use https://comparequik.com, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. Who we are
CompareQuik is operated by [BUSINESS_NAME], registered at [BUSINESS_ADDRESS]. We run a comparison platform that helps Indian consumers compare prices, specifications and value across products and services.
2. Data we collect
- Account data — email, password (stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash), and optionally your name and Google profile information if you sign in with Google.
- Usage data — products you save (watchlist) and price alerts you configure.
- Technical data — IP address, browser, device type, and pages visited (collected via privacy-friendly analytics that don't track individuals).
- Communications — email address used to send price-drop alerts when you opt in.
3. Why we collect it (lawful purposes)
- To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
- To send the price-drop alerts you have explicitly consented to.
- To detect and prevent abuse (e.g. rate-limiting sign-in attempts).
- To improve CompareQuik based on aggregated, anonymised usage signals.
We process this data on the basis of your consent (DPDP §6) and as necessary to provide the service you have requested.
4. How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your account is active, and for up to 24 months after deletion (to honour audit and abuse-prevention obligations). Watchlist and alert data are deleted when you delete them in your account or when your account is deleted.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data only with service providers strictly necessary to run CompareQuik: our hosting provider (DigitalOcean), our database provider (Supabase), our email provider (Resend, when we send alert emails), and our authentication provider (Google, when you sign in with Google). Each is bound by their own privacy commitments.
6. Your rights under DPDP
You have the right to (i) access your personal data, (ii) correct or update it, (iii) request its erasure, (iv) withdraw consent for any purpose at any time, and (v) nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf. To exercise any of these rights, write to our Grievance Officer (below). We respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use first-party cookies only — strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We do not run advertising cookies. The cookie banner you saw on first visit lets you reject any non-essential cookies we may introduce in the future.
8. Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS 1.3). Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Access to production databases is restricted to authorised personnel.
9. Children
CompareQuik is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on the site and, where you have given consent, communicated by email.
11. Grievance Officer
Under the DPDP Act and the Information Technology Rules, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to address your concerns:
[GRIEVANCE_OFFICER_NAME]
Email: [GRIEVANCE_OFFICER_EMAIL]
We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 30 days.
